| TAILORED
EXAMS SWDIC gathers clinical information about the patient prior to the
appointment. This allows the radiologist to review each patient record and to
tailor the exam to the patient's clinical symptoms. The exam studies are detailed
and extensive, ensuring examinations are done right the first time. Few additional
scans are ever required. ONE CALL DOES IT ALL
For the convenience of doctors' office and patients. SWDIC is able to handle most precertification's on a "one-call-does-it-all" basis. The Radiology Information System (RIS) tracks and provides all the necessary information on each patient during their visit to SWDIC.
PERSONAL TOUCHES Physicians
and healthcare providers can be assured that their patients will be treated with
respect and compassion. SWDIC makes every effort to properly inform patients about
exam preparations and procedures and provides educational pamphlets. Personal
touches such as terrycloth bathrobes, private waiting rooms, and separate areas
for diagnostic studies are some of the ways SWDIC helps patients feel more relaxed.
Sedation and general anesthesia for MRIs and CTs are available to make the
examination more comfortable for the patient in cases where it is deemed necessary.
COMPUTER NETWORKS SWDIC is linked via a
web-based application, Caregate, to other radiology departments at Presbyterian
Hospital of Dallas and to affiliate hospitals in the Presbyterian network.
This enables the physicians to share patient information and improve the accuracy
of their diagnosis by comparing their studies, reports, and results with others
in the Presbyterian hospital network.
SWDIC
is pleased to offer physicians the following means of receiving patient images.
Physicians may receive access to SWDIC's Picture Archive and Communication System
(PACS) database. Images performed at SWDIC can be accessed from the physician's
office PC using Caregate or from one of the PACS clinical workstations located
throughout Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. In addition, SWDIC's PacsCube
Solution System will receive images from our PACS database and transfer those
images onto a CD-R allowing physicians to dynamically view the patient's images
in full format.
